Afternoon Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update – 7,695 Confirmed Cases, 157 Deaths; Extension of “Stay at Home” Order; Decontamination Services; Law Firms & Other Services

This afternoon, the Illinois Dept. of Public Health (IDPH) is reporting a total of 157 deaths, an increase of 16 from yesterday, out of 7,695 now-confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, which is an increase of 715 new cases since yesterday. In total, 43,656 people have now been tested for the virus, an increase of 3,272 new tests since yesterday.
You can see where these cases are occurring at the State of Illinois COVID-19 website which also contains more information on this outbreak. In addition, Western Illinois University has an put together this Map of COVID-19 Cases in Illinois & Surrounding States to give you a better picture of where COVID-19 cases are at in relation to areas surrounding Illinois.
Extension of “Stay at Home” Order: If you recall from yesterday’s Update, Governor Pritzker issued a 30-day continuation of his previous “Stay at Home” Executive Order (EO). This EO contains the same provisions as the previous order allowing essential businesses and its employees to remain operating but does include a new provision prohibiting any price increases for any medical equipment, medicines, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) used to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. This new order is attached to this e-mail.
