Areas of Expertise
Our environmental practice consists of an interdisciplinary team of qualified attorneys, paralegals and investigators specializing in regulatory environmental issues, litigation, land use and real estate, insurance and governmental policy and practice. We work closely with those in our Corporate Finance and Real Estate practice groups in negotiating environmental provisions in transactional documents and allocating environmental risks and liability relating to transfer of interests in real property. We also work closely with our Litigation practice group in the prosecution and defense of environmental actions.

Many of our attorneys have prior training and experience in a variety of technical backgrounds, such as public health, industrial hygiene and toxicology, chemistry and engineering, as well as experience in the public sector. We have a substantial state-level environmental practice counseling clients in Illinois, Michigasn, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and the Eastern United States

Special Capabilities
Regulatory analysis, permit assistance and negotiation with federal, state and local regulatory agencies in all areas of environmental law, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA and CERCLA; wetlands; RCRA closures and corrective action; SARA Title III issues; CERCLA litigation; TACO, Brownfield development and land use planning; prosecution and defense of air,  water and waste enforcement actions; asbestos abatements; LUSTs and UST fund reimbursement; defense of toxic tort/chemical, environmental exposure and environmental contamination claims/suits.
