Plant Closure – Clean & dismantle cleaning line for a lamp manufacturer. Project included removal & disposal of plating solutions, rinses & debris of 20 tanks. SET sampled, profiled, tested, transported & disposed of >200 drums & 25,000 gallons of waste.
Waste Transfer & Disposal – Transfer 33,000 gallons of white phosphorus from 11 x 30,000-gallon tanks into DOT containers, decommission & dismantle the tanks for on-site scrap.
Pipeline Cleaning - Remove asphalt from 4” & 8” lines associated with bulk terminal activity. A total of 800 feet of line was cleaned.. Project entailed removal & reinstallation of new valves, fittings, piping and draining of asphalt. A circulation loop was installed. The asphalt was heated and contained for disposal. Diesel fuel was introduced and circulated for four days. Fuel was then drained and lines flushed with detergent and rinsed with water.
Material Transfer – SET has developed a high-hazard material transfer and disposal methodology for international integrated oil and gas companies. As an example, SET had to transfer TIEL catalyst (pyrophoric material with consistency of sand) from 110-gallon reaction vessels into DOT-approved cylinders for transportation and disposal at SET’s part B permitted TSDF in Houston, TX.
